- In 1964, the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) was established as the first domestic music copyright management society.

- Throughout the years, the need for an alternative became evident and many writers desired to have another option for a collection management organization (CMO).

- In 2014, KOSCAP was formed and selected to be an official copyright collection society alongside KOMCA, by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) to increase competition in the South Korean territory.

- CISAC memeber : KOSCAP as a Provisional member was adopted by the General Assembly of CISAC on June 30 2021.

- KOSCAP signed with STIM (Sweden) unilateral agreement for KOSCAP musical works on May 2022.

- KOSCAP signed with SOCAN (Canada) unilateral agreement for KOSCAP musical works on December 2022.

- KOSCAP signed with CASH (Hong Kong) unilateral agreement for KOSCAP musical works on December 2022.

- Extension of KOSCAP’s Provisional membership of CISAC by the General Assembly of CISAC on June 1 2023.
